Yam Fry (Kandagada) easy method

Very tasty side dish> Goes well with sambar, papu even good with plain rice or pulav rice, jeera rice. Liked even by non-vegetarians. Good dish to prepare when you have to stay away from non-veg dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg Yam
  • 2 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tsp Corriander powder
  • 1/2 Lime
  • 6 tsp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash the Yam and peel the skin and cut into thin slices or pieces and put them in salt water,wash them thoroughly and take them in a dish and throw away the water.

  2. Now add salt, turmeric, chillipowder, corriander powder and lime juice and mix all the ingredients properly and keep aside for one hour.

  3. Take a pan add oil and add curry leaves to this add small portions of yam slices and fry nicely till done. 

  4. Towards the end after frying all the pieces add corriander powder and fry for 5 minutes. Gives out a nice crunchy leathery taste.
