Udhi Vadalu
You get very crispy and tasty vadas. Vadas are loved by all and it is a delicacy that many people make during festivals and special occasions. It is best with sambar and alam chutney ( ginger ). Vadas also go well with mutton or chicken kurma.
Ingredients
- 11/2 glass Urad Dal ( black Gram ) without Coating
- 4 Green Chilies
- 1/2 inch Ginger Piece
- 1 Onion Finely Chopped
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Soda
- 1 bunch Coriander Leaves finely chopped
Instructions

First wash the urad dal and soak it in water overnight or 6 hours.

Then grind it along with salt, green chilies, ginger and soda.

Keep a little urad dal to roughly grind in the end and mix it with the smooth dal and also add onion and coriander pieces and mix well and shape them into round shape and make a whole in the middle to form wheel shape,

Take enough oil in a kadai let heat up then put the vadas and fry till brown and crisp and serve hot with chutney and sambar.
