Simple Upma
Easy to make a quick breakfast recipe. Takes only 15 minutes and tastes too good with mango pickle.
Ingredients
- 11/2 glass Rava ( bombay rava or bansi rava )
- 4 slit green chilies
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 1/2 inch Ginger Piece finely chopped or ground
- 1 Tomato Finely Chopped
Instructions

Take a pan add 1 tbsp oil or ghee and add the rava and fry till lightly brown. keep aside.

In the same Pan add 2 tbsp oil and add tempering of 1/2 tsp of mustard and cumin seeds and 1 tsp of urad and chana dal and 5 curry leaves and when they splutter add onions chilies and tomatoes and fry add ginger also and fry for 3 minutes.

Now add 21/2 glasses water if using bansi rava and 31/2 glasses water if using bombay rava, let it boil and add 1/2 tsp salt and add the fried rava and mix well.

Decrease the flame and cook till the rava is well done and garnish with corriander leaves and switch off. Keep stirring in between or the bombay rava tends to form lumps.
