Very easy breakfast recipe. Whenever i need to hurry i make this. Always tastes good. folloe the instructions well. I am giving the basic recipe you make the variations by add vegetables to it. peas carrots and potatoes go well with it. Capsicum is also fine.

Ingredients

  • 11/2 glass Semiya
  • 21/4 glass water
  • 2 Tomatoes big
  • 2 Onions medium
  • 5 Green Chilies
  • 5 Curry Leaves
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 4 tsp Oil
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Take a pan put 1/2 tsp oil and fry the semiya till light brown don't over roast them. 

  2. Wash the tomatoes and onion and cut them into small pieces. Clean and slit the green chilies. Paste the ginger piece in a mortar and keep aside.

  3. Now take a pan add oil and ghee put the tempering (1/4 tsp each of mustard and cumin seeds and 1 tsp of channa and urad dal) add curry leaves when they start to splutter add onions and chilies and fry till light brown add tomatoes and ginger paste and fry till mushy.

  4. Now add salt and add semiya and fry for 2 minutes and then add water and when it starts to boil lower the flame to sim and cook till the semiya is done and water also gets evaporated. Keep stirring often. Be careful not to smash the semiya. 

  5. Garnish with corriander leaves before you switch off. Serve hot with chutney or pickle.
