Rava Idli

Quite nutritious and tasty too. It is one of my mother's favourites. It makes a good change from the regular idlies can try on one of your free Sundays.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rava Suji
  • 1 cup Curds
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 2 Red Chilies
  • 1 tsp Channa and Urad dal
  • 5 Curry Leaves
  • 2 Green Chilies, Chopped

Instructions

  1. Take one cup bombay rava ( suji ) and fry it in 2 tsp ghee till it is slightly roasted and emits a sweet smell switch off and cool.

  2. Take a pan add oil and add urad and channa dal and red chillies and green chilies and roast and add curry leaves and add the tadka to the curds.

  3. Now add the curds to the rava and add salt and mix well and keep aside for one hour.

  4. Take idli plates apply oil and pour the batter into the plates and cook for 12 minutes after the whistle. do not put the weight.

  5. If you find the batter is too thick then pour a little water and mix thoroughly. The batter should have a medium consistency.
