Potato Cauliflower with Sorrel Curry ( Gongura Potato and Cauliflower Curry )

Ingredients

  • 5 Medium Potatoes
  • 5 Cauliflower Florets
  • 1 cup Sorrel Leaves (Gongura Leaves )
  • 1 Big Onion Finely Chopped
  • 1 Small Tomato
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds
  • 4 Green Chilies
  • 3//4 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 11/2 tsp Corriander Powder

Instructions

  1. Wash the sorrel leaves and fry them till tender  and let cool and grind them along with green chilies, sesame seeds and tomato into a smooth paste. 

  2. Wash the potatoes peel them and cut them into medium pieces.  Now take a pan add onions and 4 curry leaves and fry till  golden brown.

  3. Then add the potatoes and add a little water cover with lid and let cook till done. Then add ginger garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile take the cauliflower florets in a dish add water, 1/4 tsp salt and cook them on low flame till they are half cooked.  They get soft fast so keep checking.

  5. When the potatoes are cooked add the gongura paste, salt, turmeric corriander powder and chili powder and mix well and fry well. Then add cauliflower florets and fry for another two minutes and switch off.
