Pepper Fish Fry (Neela's)

My children don't eat fish so we make fish rarely. My son in law loves fish so one day when he was coming for lunch I ordered fish and using the usual ingredients i made this fish fry, amazingly it came out well he loved it so I am putting up the recipe as I made it.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg Boneless Fish
  • 1/2 inch Ginger
  • 10 flakes Garlic
  • 1 tsp Desiccated Coconut
  • 2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 cup Curd Small
  • 1 Lemon Juice
  • 2 tsp Salt leveled
  • 2 tsp Pepper
  • 10 Curry Leaves
  • 6 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash the fish pieces with salt, turmeric and water thoroughly.  

  2. Then grind coconut, ginger, garlic. coriander powder and grind them to smooth paste.

  3. Add this to the fish add salt chili powder, 1 tsp pepper powder, juice of one lime, ground masala and curd mix well and leave to marinate for at least half an hour.

  4. Now take a pan add oil add the curry leaves 2 slit green chilies and fry then add fish and cook till the fish is done well. keep turning the fish pieces gently or they will break.

  5. Keep frying till golden brown to the end add 1 tsp pepper, if you want you can also add chili powder fry for a minute and switch off.

  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.  You can even serve it for snacks.
