Drumstick and Peas Kurma

Quite easy to make If you have the masala ready then it will take only 10 minutes to make this kurma. Very tasty with rice, biryani, fried rice, chapaties, rotis, breads. It goes with all. Drumstick is very rich source of Vitamin C and fiber low in sodium so even heart patients can eat it. Peas rich in proteins, Folates, Riboflavin, thiamin, Vitamin C and A.  Cook and enjoy eating it.

Ingredients

  • 3 Long Drumsticks
  • 1 cup Peas
  • 2 Tomatoes big
  • 2 Onions small
  • 4 tbsp Desiccated Coconut
  • 3 tbsp Corriander Seeds
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 8 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 green Chillies
  • 5 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  1. First clean the drumsticks and cut them into 2 inch long pieces. Cut the onions and tomatoes into small pieces and keep aside. Slit the green chilies and keep aside.

  2. Fry the coriander seeds till a nice aroma comes and grind them along with desiccated coconut and 6 garlic cloves. keep 2 cloves aside for seasoning.

  3. Now take a cooker and add oil and temper with 1/2 tsp of mustard and cumin seeds and when they start to splutter add curry leaves, onions and 2 garlic cloves and fry for 2 minutes.

  4. Then add drumstick pieces and peas and add the masala, salt, turmeric and chili powder and fry for 3 minutes keep stirring in between. 

  5. Now add tomatoes and fry till they soften and now pour 1/2 glass water or more according to the consistency you want and close the lid and cook for 7 minutes after the whistle blows.

  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 Onions big
  • 2 tsp Curry Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard Powder
  • 2 Tomatoes big
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp chili Powder leveled tsp
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  1. Clean, Cut and paste the tomatoes and keep aside. Cut the onions and grind and keep aside.

  2. Boil the eggs, remove the skin.  Fry them in little oil for 3 minutes and keep aside.

  3. Now take a pan put oil and temper with 1/2 tsp of mustard and cumin and 5 curry leaves and when they splutter add onion paste and fry till light brown add ginger garlic paste and tomato paste and fry for another 5 minutes till mushy.

  4. Now add salt, turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, mustard powder and curry powder and fry for another 2 minutes and then add eggs and fry till the oil starts to ooze out then switch off and garnish with coriander leaves.

  5. Now serve hot with rice or chapaties.

Ingredients

  • 2 Raw Bananas big
  • 5 Green chilis
  • 1/2 inch Ginger Piece
  • 1/2 tsp Fried Channa Dal Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Onion
  • 5 Curry Leaves(optional)

Instructions

  1. First wash the bananas and cut them into big pieces and boil them in the cooker for one whistle. Cut the onion and chilies into small pieces. Paste the ginger in a mortar and keep aside.

  2. Then remove the skin it will come off easily. Then smash the bananas with hand or ladle.

  3. Now add onion pieces, chili pieces,salt, ginger paste and fried channa dal powder and if you are adding curry leaves cut them into small pieces and add.

  4. You can also add coriander leaves and mix all thoroughly with the mashed banana.

  5. Now make small vadas with the mixture and deep fry in oil. Take a pan add 3/4 cup oil and when the oil is heated up drop the vadas in the oil and fry them to golden brown. 

  6. You can make these vadas with yam also. Try them and see how you enjoy them.
