It might sound weird beans and keema but believe me try it and see you will love it. It tastes good with rice and chapatis. Quite easy to make and full of proteins and B Vitamins. Beans are rich in fiber and have good amounts of A and C vitamins. For only non veg eaters this dish provides good amounts of fiber and you can have the taste of meat too.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg Keema minced meat
  • 1/4 kg Tender Beans
  • 1 Onion big
  • 2 Tomatoes big
  • 11/2 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 11/2 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 tsp Pepper Powder
  • 5 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 tbsp Desiccated Coconut dry
  • 5 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  1. Blend coconut, garlic cloves and half of the coriander powder and keep aside.

  2. Wash the beans and cut them into fine pieces. Thoroughly clean the meat and squeeze out all the water and put it in the cooker and let cook till all the water is evaporated from the keema.

  3. Now add beans, salt, turmeric, ginger garlic paste, chili powder, finely chopped onions, tomato pieces and the left over coriander powder and pour 1/4 glass water and cook for 10 minutes after the whistle.

  4. Now take a pan add oil, add 2 cinnamon pieces and 2 cloves and few onion pieces and when they are lightly brown add pepper and if you want you can add chili powder. Also add the keema from the cooker and fry for 7 minutes keep stirring in between.

  5. when the keema gets a roasted look add the masala powder and fry for another 2 minutes or more and switch off.

  6. Some prefer the curry to be dry so prefer it like a gravy so which ever way you prefer you can make it. All ready, garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

Stuffed Capsicum Curry

Very tasty and nutritious. All vegetables are healthy but capsicum is tasty and can be used to make a variety of dishes. High in Vitamin A, C and B6.  Good for menopausal women as you get abundant vitamin C from this vegetable which strengthens the bones.

Ingredients

  • 8 capsicum small
  • 2 Onions big
  • 4 Tomatoes big
  • 4 tbsp Peanuts fried
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard
  • 3/4 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 11/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 Potatoes big
  • 1/2 cup Gram flour (sanagapindi)

Instructions

  1. Fry cumin fenugreek, and mustard and grind them. Grind peanuts, onions and tomatoes separately. Then boil the potatoes and peel and mash them and add 3 tbsp lemon juice and mix well.

  2. Wash and cut the capsicum into four parts to form cups and stuff the mashed potato into them.

  3. Now take the flour in a basin add 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp chili powder and mix with water to make a thin paste. Now dip the stuffed capsicums and deep fry them in oil and keep aside.

  4. Take another pan add 4 tbsp oil and temper with mustard and 7 curry leaves as they splutter add onion paste and fry till light brown add tomato paste, peanut paste and coriander powders, and the masala powder that you had ground and keep stirring.

  5. Add turmeric and salt to the masala and fry for about 7 minutes then add the deep fried capsicum to this fried masala and keep stirring and fry for another 4 minutes and switch off.

  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.  You can show your cooking skills with this dish. Make it for your kitty parties and dinners. Your dish will be much appreciated.

  • 4oo gms Yam
  • 10 Dry Chilies
  • 11/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 3 Onions
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 4 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  1. Clean the yam well and peel it and cut it into flat pieces.

  2. Grind the chilies, onion and add the paste to the yam pieces also add salt turmeric and coriander powder and mix well and put aside to marinate for 1 hour.

  3. Take a pan add oil and temper with mustard and cumin 1/4 tsp and curry leaves 8 when they start to splutter add the yam pieces and fry for 2 minutes.

  4. Now add water and close with a lid and cook till the yam pices are cooked might take about 5 minutes or less.

  5. Now keep frying stirring occasionally till the yam pieces become a golden brow then switch off and serve hot with rice and dal.
