Nallapareddy Palle Charu ( Rasam Powder )
This is the rasam powder used in one of my aunt's village. She makes the most tasty rasam. Here I am giving the recipe for the Just the rasam powder. You can powder all ingredients and store it and use 1 to tsp of it when needed. The process is the same you wash and soak tur dal and boil it with tamarind ball and after boiling it should be mashed to smooth paste and enough water should be added to make a watery consistency and temper it and add rasam powder and let boil for two to three minutes and switch off.

Rasam Powder Ingredients
- 10 Cardamom
- 400 gms Pepper Corns
- 200 gms Cumin
- 5 cloves
- 7 small pieces Cinamon
- 7 Marathi Mogu
- 200 gms Dry Red Chilies
- 250 gms Urad Dal
- 50 gms Fenugreek Seeds
- 100 gms Mustard Seeds

Dry fry all the above ingredients and powder them and sore it in a air tight container.

For making the rasam you should take 1/4 cup tur dal and lemon sized tamarind ball and three tomatoes and take them in a cooker and add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp salt and pour 1/2 glass water and boil for ten minutes after it whistles.

Then cool and grind in the grinder or mash with a ladle into smooth paste and add more water if needed. Then take a pan and add tempering and when it splutters add this to the rasam and keep it on slow flame to boil.

Next add 2 heaped tbsp of rasam powder and let it boil for 3 minutes and switch off.
