Murukulu ( Chaklis )
Murukulu
The best snack to serve when guests visit you. Many like to eat this snack after eating sweets.
Ingredients
- 4 glasses Rice
- 2 glasses Fried Channa Dal
- 1 glass Urad Dal
- 3 tbsp Sesame seeds
- 3 tbsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Chili Powder
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 2 tbsp Oil heated
Instructions

First wash and soak the rice in water for 2 to 3 hours the day before. Then take it out and dry it in the sun. Then grind it into a powder.

Also powder the channa dal and keep aside. Then the urad you should dry fry it on low flame till an aroma comes. Then grind it into a smooth powder.

Now take all the ingredients rice,flour, channa dal powder, urad powder to this add chili powder, salt, sesame seeds and butter and mix by adding little water at a time, Also add the heated oil and mix well to get crispy murukulu.

The consistency of the batter should be right not too soft nor hard. Take the muruku press or maker and put big portions of this batter into the barrel.

Take a kadai and fill it with oil and when the oil heats up take the press on to the kadai and press the batter into the oil forming rounds. You should use single big holed star shaped plate for these murukus.
