My friends recipe.  Very healthy chutney you should eat it at least thrice a month.  Rich in vitamin A. C and B complex. Rich in fiber less fat and helps relieve you of constipation.  Good for pregnant and feeding mothers helps baby get good amount of iron and and phosphorous.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Munagaku ( Drumstick Leaves )
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 tsp Nuvula Podi (sesame seeds powder)
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 5 Green Chilies
  • 1 lemon sized Tamarind Ball
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 10 Curry Leaves
  • 2 Dry Chilies
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. First take a pan add little oil and fry cumin, green chilies. garlic and curry leaves and take aside.

  2. In the same pan add oil and fry the Drumstick leaves after washing them and drying them for sometime.  Once they loose the raw smell take them in a plate and keep aside.

  3. Next fry the tomatoes and tamarind and keep aside. If sesame seed powder is not there then fry the seeds and grind them into powder.

  4. Now take all the above in the jar and grind them and take in a jar.  Now take the pan add oil and temper with mustard and dry chilies and once they splutter add to the chutney and mix thoroughly. If you want some more salt you can add and mix.
