Aratikaya Fry (Raw Banana Fry)
Aratikaya Fry
This dish is a delicacy filled with nutrients. Raw banana is rich in fiber and healthy starch. High in vitamin B6, Vitamin C and copper. Good for weight loss as very low in fat.
Ingredients
- 3 Raw Bananas
- 8 Garlic Cloves
- 1/2 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Chili Powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 3 tbsp Oil
Instructions

First wash and peel the skin of the bananas. Then cut them into small pieces and take them in a thick bottomed dish or pan and add 1/2 glass water and boil them for 4 minutes( Till it is cooked should not be overcooked or it will get mushy.

Now grind the garlic and cumin and keep aside.

Now take a pan add oil and temper it with 1/2 tsp each of cumin and mustard seeds, 1 tsp each of urad and channa dal and 7 curry leaves. When they start to splutter add cooked banana pieces and turmeric and salt and fry till the banana gets slightly brown. ,

Then add Chili powder and the ground garlic and cummin powder and fry for another 2 minutes stirring continuously. Switch off and garnish with corriander leaves and serve hot with rice and dal or kurmas.

It goes well as a side dish with most curries..
