Chikudukaya Karam(Broad bean Curry)
You will love this dish. It is one of my favourites. it tastes yummy with rice and ghee. It is a very nutritious vegetable providing A,C and iron and also high in fiber and proteins.
Ingredients
- 15 Green Chilis
- 1/4 kg Chikudu (broad bean seeds)
- 11/2 Onions
- 1 tbsp curd
- 6 Garlic Cloves
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1 tsp Coconut Powder optional
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 7 tsp Oil
Instructions

Grind green chilies with little salt and keep aside,

Also grind the seeds and onion they should become small pieces not like a paste.

Now take a pan add oil add seasoning(cummin and mustard seeds 1/4 tsp each, urad and channa dal 1 tsp each 8 curry leaves) when they start to splutter add the ground paste( the chilli paste and the onion and broad bean seeds paste and fry for 5 minutes.

Add salt turmeric and pour 3/4 glass water and cook with the lid closed stir occasionally. It might take 10 to 15 minutes for the paste to cook properly.

Now add curd and cook for another 5 minutes. Now add the garlic and coriander powder(they both should be blended in the blender) and fry till the curry loses its raw taste and gives out a nice smell. The curry should be like keema.

Switch off and serve with hot rice.
