Very tasty dish my favourite it tastes delicious with chapathi or pulkas. It is high in fiber and proteins so it is a must at least twice a week especially for vegetarians.  High in iron and potassium.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 glass Rajma
  • 2 Onions big
  • 4 Tomatoes
  • 7 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/2 inch Ginger Piece
  • 1 lemon sized Tamarind Ball
  • 3 tbsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Soak the rajma in water over night.  Next day throw away the water and take the rajma in cooker add salt and pour 3/4 glass water and boil for 20 minutes after the whistle.

  2. Cook the tomatoes and tamarind in water and when cool mash them well and extract the juice and filter.

  3. Lightly fry the coriander seeds and onions and grind them along with ginger and garlic and keep aside.

  4. Now take a pan add 4 tbsp oil and put in the onion and coriander masala and fry for two minutes then add the tomato and tamarind juice and add turmeric, chili powder and add the rajma from the cooker withe water and cook.

  5. Cook till oil starts to separate, garnish with coriander leaves and switch off and serve hot with chapati or rice.
