Kandipaputho Menthaku vepudu ( tur dal and menthi fry )
Kandhipapu amenthaku Vepudu ( Turdal and Menthi Fry )
Both very nutritious ingredients. Rich in protein, calcium, iron, zinc and B vitamins. A must for growing children and pregnant ladies.
Ingredients
- 1/4 glass Tur Dal ( Kandhi Papu )
- 1 cup Menthi Leaves fresh
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
- 1 Onion big
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder
- 5 Garlic Cloves
Instructions

First wash and soak the tur dal in water for half an hour. Mean while powder the coriander and garlic. Cut the onion into small pieces.

Take a cooker, put the tur dal and menthi leaves in the cooker add turmeric and cook for 2 minutes after the whistle or they will get over cooked.

Take a pan add oil and temper with 1/4 tsp each of mustard and cummin seeds and 4 curry leaves and when they splutter add the onion pieces and fry for 2 minutes then add the dal and menthi leaves and fry.

Keep stirring in between add salt, chili powder and fry till a little dry now add the coriander and garlic powder and fry for sometime and switch off.
