Ingredients

  • 1/4 glass Tur Dal ( Kandhi Papu )
  • 1 cup Menthi Leaves fresh
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 Onion big
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 5 Garlic Cloves

Instructions

  1. First wash and soak the tur dal in water for half an hour.  Mean while powder the coriander and garlic.  Cut the onion into small pieces.

  2. Take a cooker, put the tur dal and menthi leaves in the cooker add turmeric and cook for 2 minutes after the whistle or they will get over cooked.

  3. Take a pan add oil and temper with 1/4 tsp each of mustard and cummin seeds and 4 curry leaves and when they splutter add the onion pieces and fry for 2 minutes then add the dal and menthi leaves and fry.

  4. Keep stirring in between add salt, chili powder and fry till a little dry now add the coriander and garlic powder and fry for sometime and switch off.
