Palav Anu's
Old fashioned type of pulav, It will bring back your old memories. All the grannies and aunties will love this pulav it can be cooked with meat, chicken vegetables or just plain rice.
Ingredients
- 1 glass Basmati Rice
- 1/2 kg Chicken
- 2 tbsp Coriander Seeds
- 3 tbsp Desiccated Coconut dry
- 3 cloves
- 4 pieces Cinnamon
- 2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 11/2 tsp Chili powder
- 5 Green Chilies
- 2 tsp Salt
- 5 tbsp Oil
- 1/2 cup Coconut milk or plain milk or curd
Instructions

First lets grind the masala. Take a pan and fry the coriander seeds, cloves, cinnamon and chilies then take them in a grinder add coconut and grind to a smooth paste. Wash the rice and soak it in water for half an hour.

Now clean the chicken and take it in cooker till all the water leaves, then add turmeric, salt, chili powder, ginger garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes then add the masala and fry for 5 minutes add 2 tbsp oil too.

When the masala is fried add 1/4 glass water and cook for 4 minutes after the whistle.

Take a pan add the rest of the oil add the onion pieces and fry till golden brown now add chicken pieces and fry also add the rice (not the water). and fry for some time now you need to add 2 glasses water for l glass rice.

Since you will have some water left in the cooker and also coconut milk or curds, whatever you are adding, You need to measure then too if you are taking 1/2 glass coconut milk and the chicken stock in the cooker is half glass then you need only one glass water.

So measure accordingly or the rice will not come fluffy. After you add the water mix well and cook for 7 minutes after the whistle if in a cooker. If you are making it in a dish then till all the water is evaporated and the rice gets cooked nicely.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
