Sweet and Sour Chicken
Hope you enjoy making this dish. This is another chinese item my mother's cook book has. I think she got it from some restaurant, because there was no net forty years back and very few cook books available also very costly then. I know my mom never bought any cook books she only wrote that she had tasty herself and liked them. Then she would'nt leave them till they gave her the recipe.
Ingredients
- 250 gms Chicken boneless
- 3 tbsp Vinegar
- 4 tbsp Sugar
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- 1 tsp Cornflour for the sauce
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 Tomato
- 1 Capsicum
- 100 gms Peas
- 2 tbsp Flour for the chicken
Instructions

Wash the chicken, squeeze out the water completely take this in a bowl and add salt and pepper and mix well. Take a pan add 2 tbsp oil and shallow fry the chicken pieces little at a time.

Now lets prepare the sauce take a dish take vinegar, garlic pieces and sugar and blend well, take corn flour and mix it well with water to make a smooth paste now add this paste to the vinegar and boil stir continuously.

When thick add the sliced tomatoes and green peas and cook till the peas are soft. then switch off.

Beat the egg well and mix it in the flour and dip the chicken pieces into this and fry again till brown now take the chicken in a serving dish and pour the sauce over the chicken and serve.
