Chicken Fry Janakama's

She was a cook in our grandfather's house she was not only a great cook she was a great lady too with dignity and loyalty. My mom was a great fan of her cooking. She has most of her recipes in her cook book. I will try to put them all on the net. Thank You hope you all enjoy this dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 4 Tomatoes big
  • 11/2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 Onions big
  • 11/2 tsp Salt
  • 2tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Cloves
  • 2 Cinnamon pieces
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 2 tbsp Coriander seeds
  • 5 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken take it in a cooker and let the water from the chicken evaporate now add tomato pieces, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, ginger garlic paste and onion pieces and mix thoroughly and fry for 2 minutes and then pour 1/4 glass water and close the lid and cook for 5 minutes after whistle and switch off.

  2. Fry the coriander seeds, cumin, cloves and cinnamon pieces on slow flame for 2 minutes and switch off and let cool and blend them to a powder in a blender,

  3. Take a pan add oil and add the chicken pieces from the cooker to the pan and fry them well, it takes about 15 minutes, keep stirring in between.

  4. To the end add the coriander, cumin, clove and cinnamon powder and roast till the curry becomes golden brown and the garnish with coriander leaves and switch off.

  5. Serve hot with rice, dal or sambar. Tastes good with rotis too.
