Keema Vadas (minced meat vadas)

Every one loves vadas let it be veg or non-veg. Many think they are difficult to make but no, just try and see how easy they are to make. Ladies you can serve them in your kitty parties as snacks or as a side dish with dal or sambar. Children especially love vadas. So pamper them once in a while.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg Keema (minced meat)
  • 4 Green Chilies
  • 11/2 Onion
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 10 Cashew Nuts
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Coconut Powder dry (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the keema thoroughly, squeeze out the water and take it in a cooker and let the water evaporate then add the chili and onion pieces and ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell goes lets say 5 minutes. 

  2. Add salt,coriander powder and turmeric to the keema. You can also add coconut powder if you want fry for some time pour 1/4 glass water close the lid and cook for 15 minutes after the whistle and switch off.

  3. After the pressure decreases open the lid and let cool. Now take the contents of the cooker in the grinder jar add cashewnuts, 2 cinnamon and 2 cloves and grind to a smooth paste.

  4. Now take 2 eggs beat them thoroughly and make small balls out of the keema paste and flaten them to make vadas (round and flat), and keep aside in a plate.

  5. Take a pan fill half the pan with oil about one cup oil i think. Then dip the vadas in egg and deep fry them in the oil. Those who are new to cooking do it slowly. the vadas should be put only after the oil heats up. 

  6. Have a tasty treat. Always use a deep fry strainer to remove the vadas from oil. If you want the vadas crispy then you can roll them in bread powder before frying.
